An introduction to the concepts and applications of information technologies relevant to information professional practice. The concepts include the structure of computers and information systems, major types of software systems, basic principles of systems analysis and design, and telecommunications fundamentals. Skills to be developed include assessing the appropriateness of various information technology applications and implementing them in typical information organizations.
