This year's issue of
Jutta Treviranus and Professor Stephen Hockema had their paper, “The Value of the Unpopular: Conteracting the Popularity Echo-Chamber on the Web,” selected from more than 700 entries as one of the three best papers at the prestigious 2009 IEEE Toronto International Conference -- Science and Technology for Humanity on September 27, 2009.
Toronto iSchool Dean, Prof. Seamus Ross, is delighted that Dr. Elizabeth Shepherd from University College London (UCL) has accepted the Faculty's invitation to take up the post of Visiting Professor for the fall of 2009.
Congratulations to Margaret Lam upon receiving the SIG USE Masters Student Travel Award. The $500 grant will assist her in traveling to Vancouver to attend the 2009 ASIS&T Conference and participating in the SIG USE Symposium.
