Digital & Technically Savvy Presenters
Richmond Hill Public Library is organizing a Technology Fair in September 2011. The Technology Fair is an opportunity for technologically-savvy volunteers to share their expertise and knowledge about today’s popular technology (hardware or software) with the community.
We are looking for knowledgeable and technically savvy volunteers to lead “How-To” presentations and/or workshops on one or more of the following topics: Introduction to Mac, GIS, Google Map Use, How to Create a Website, Blackberry and other PDA device proficiency, Understanding and Using Ipads, Introduction to EReaders & EBooks. Suggestions for other topics are welcome.
We are also looking for someone to lead an introductory seminar on information/media literacy (what is it, why it’s important, how it affects us, how to become more information/media literate etc).
Applicant must be enthusiastic, experienced, and knowledgeable with any of the above-mentioned technologies. Ability to independantly organize and lead a workshop/presentation. Ability to speak confidently in front of an audience.
This is a volunteer position and a great opportunity to share your technical skill, build teaching and presentation expertise, and provide a worthwhile service to the community while strengthening and building your resume!
