Description and duties: 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic Knowledge Management team. Based within the Toronto office, you will be a member of the Knowledge Management Operations Team, and will be responsible for the firm’s Taxonomy management (controlled vocabularies & Synaptica administration), Portal search, and Portal information architecture, and consultation on these areas for the other technologies and programs Canada Knowledge Management provides to the business. You may also be asked to take the lead as subject matter expert in these areas on Canada KM projects.

The Specialist reports to the Knowledge Management Operations Program Manager, and works closely with the Change Management, Metrics and Portal Adoption Specialist; the Portal Content Management and Usability Specialist, and several others on the KM Operations Team.

Your attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities and your flexibility to adapt to changing demands and deadlines, will be essential to your success. This role will also require you exercise discretion in handling confidential information.

Qualifications: 

Functional Competencies
Previous experience working with Intranets desirable
KM Methodology, principles, strategy & planning
Knowledge of and proficiency in Lotus Notes
Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of taxonomy management suites, such as Synaptica, and Search engines, such as Exalead, is desired.
Knowledge of MS Project Professional is an asset

Experience
This role is best suited to an individual who has a minimum of 3+ years of successful experience in a knowledge management, portal/web operations, taxonomy management and/or search engine optimization role, preferably in a professional services environment.

Education
Education: Post-secondary studies in knowledge management, information/library science, business, marketing, communications or related discipline.

Other Information
Preferred working hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Flexibility to work overtime when required
