Artifacts Coordinator
The Ontario Science Centre; a world-renowned cultural and educational institution, that attracts a million visitors per year is looking for an experienced artifacts coordinator to provide front line coordination of exhibit artifacts for hall relocations and special exhibitions; supervise the logistic planning and evaluation of exhibit artifacts to ensure conservation and preservation; act as an expert resource for staff with the administration of OSC artifacts and their inclusion with other interfaces.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of curation to understand object handling, display and conservation issues; demonstrated supervisory experience in logistic planning and evaluation of exhibit artifacts to ensure their preservation; coordination skills to implement systems and processes to organize and monitor artifacts being displayed; strong team work and collaboration skills to effectively work with staff and work cooperatively to ensure the proper set up and take down of artifacts; well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills; excellent oral and written communication skills and experience; sound judgment and discretion to independently make decisions and resolve issues in the monitoring and maintenance of the artifacts; demonstrated experience reading exhibit plans and technical drawings; proficiency with computer software to complete condition and inventory reports.
$973.38 - $1099.48 per week
