Description and duties: 

EPCOR Utilities, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Water Knowledge Information Systems (KIS) to join their team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Water Project Management Office, the Manager, KIS is accountable for the performance of the KIS in EPCOR Water Services Inc. (EWSI). This includes the development of standards and procedures for knowledge and records management, identification and implementation of tools and technologies for knowledge capture and sharing, and proper cataloguing and storage of documentation in coordination with all areas of Water Services.

The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

 Identify, implement and use support tools and technologies for records management, libraries, eLearning, knowledge capture, knowledge sharing, and project management.
 Engage and train managers and staff throughout EWSI to use and maintain document collaboration and management processes.
 Identify the necessary budget requirements for the provision of technology and tools to capture and deliver knowledge and human resources required to develop processes, procedures and standards.
 Stewardship of the EWSI SharePoint 2010 working architecture, including:
o Develop and implement a functionally based common filing system for EWSI that aligns with EPCOR’s classification and retention standard.
o Ensure the filing system design addresses each business units’ common and unique requirements and allows for efficient retrieval of information/.
o Develop standards and security settings for the common filing system.
o Develop protocols for secure Extranet access by EPCOR’s clients and consultants.
o Develop training material and provide training to users and administrators.
o Chair the SPROG (SharePoint Representative Owners Group) meetings consisting of key personnel from each business area.
o Work effectively with the EPCOR corporate web-team to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives and requirements. Work collaboratively with the web-based team to gain their support in ensuring that EWSI’s requirements are addressed.
 Manage the library functions including hard copy and electronic files for access by anyone in EWSI.
 Manage the Knowledge Management Group staff.

Qualifications: 

As the successful candidate, you possess:

 Computer Science or Library Science degree or diploma, or other related education from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
 Five for more years of experience in the area of electronic filing and library or records management functions.
 Advanced knowledge in SharePoint 2010, MS Office 2010 enterprise products, VB and VBA programming, HTML programming, and web site set up.
 Working knowledge or understanding of Library Information Systems such as InMagic, MS Project and Visio.
 Working knowledge or understanding of Oracle software (e.g. Oracle Financials and Oracle Projects) and knowledge of Work Management Systems such as IVARA would be considered an asset.
