Temporary Description and duties:
Join the Library Services department at The Ottawa Hospital as a full-time librarian (37.5 hours per week) working with a team that is renowned for their exceptional library services. Key responsibilities include providing literature search services in response to queries from our clients and assist with collection development and the delivery of library services to healthcare teams throughout the hospital.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
o Master’s in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited university
o 3 years progressively responsible experience in a medical or health science library
o Well developed research, teaching and project management skills
o Experience in collection development
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Excellent working knowledge of Internet and health science literature and databases, research methodologies and Copyright Law
o Advanced computer skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications and Camtasia software
o Sound judgment and problem solving abilities
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Demonstrated time management skills
o Customer service orientation
Compensation:
$30.184 - $40.648 per hour
This position is part of the OPSEU union. Final decision about salary within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience
