The iSchool Student Services Office can assist students with any difficulties they may encounter in their personal, financial, or academic lives.
Student Services staff will meet with you, discuss your issues, and if necessary, direct you to appropriate professional services available at the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. U of T offers its students a wide range of services to help support them in achieving their personal and academic best. Take advantage of what we have to offer!
Health & Wellness offers a wide range of services to U of T students, including those that can help students to cope with the psychological and emotional challenges that can arise in university life. They are located in the Koffler Student Services Centre.
In addition to selected Health & Wellness services described below, this office has developed a online kit of tools and resources called iCope, puts out a student health newsletter, and works towards achieving a healthy campus.
This department provides the same services as a family doctor's office, including disability documentation, smoking cessation, birth control, and more.
Counselling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS provides students with short-term individual counselling, psychotherapy, group therapy, assault counselling, workshops, psychiatric medication services, and more. CAPS staff can assist students in dealing with academia-related issues, such as attention and concentration difficulties, as well as personal challenges, such as relationship problems and eating disorders.
Grief Talking Circles are comprised of men and women with mixed types of loss. Specifically suited
for students who have experienced the death of a grandparent, parent spouse/partner or close friend. See the list of Fall 2012 grief circle dates and times.
Health Promotion & Education Programs
These programs actively support the health and well-being of University of Toronto students. The office also works towards integrating health into the culture, processes and policies of the university, and fostering a health-positive campus culture.
Learning Skills Services
A team of dedicated professionals helps students to develop the skills, strategies and competencies needed for academic success. They also offer workshops to help students overcome learning barriers. For example, workshops targeted to graduate students include: Stress Management: What to Do When Everything is Going Wrong; Perfectionism; Write Fright; and, Motivation for Grad Students. Signing up for courses is an online procedure. The ASC is located in the Koffler Student Services Centre.
Counsellors are available for consultation on a drop-in basis.
