Wireless printing

Instructions on how to print documents from your laptop to campus printers while connected to the U of T Campus Wireless Network:

The QUEUE for the iSchool is IS-BW for the black and white copier B and IS-Colour for the colour copier C.

How it works: you print to the printer that you would like from anywhere on campus and then release it from the print release station the same way you always have.

Poster printing

HP DesignJet 5500ps poster printer is available to all iSchoolers on the 5th floor of Inforum. It is not a self-serve printer so printing arrangements must be made ahead of time.

The cost is $10 per linear foot, regardless of width. However, printing is free for staff and faculty members working on Faculty business and/or research.

Posters must be submitted in PDF format, or PPT. If you are submitting it as a PPT, there is also a length limitation of 56 inches and any unusual fonts used must be checked with Anna to see if we have them before submission.

Procedures

Single poster jobs must be submitted at least three (3) week days in advance of the required date.

Multiple poster jobs:

  • Staff require at least 2 weeks to process large bulk requests
  • To ensure adequate supplies and staff coverage for bulk requests:
    • Instructors assigning posters as part of course work should liaise with Anna Oh at the start of the academic term
    • Poster exhibition organizers should liaise with Anna Oh as soon as possible

To submit a job for printing, please send an email to help [dot] ischoolatutoronto [dot] ca containing specifics on the job:

  1. Date required
  2. Final dimensions of the poster

Requesters may either attach their document to this email, or bring the file to the Inforum on a USB drive or CD/DVD during regular business hours directly to Anna Oh for submission.

Size (poster dimensions)

The shorter edge of the document must be LESS than or equal to 40 inches (101.5 cm). As long as this is the case, there is no practical limit to its length. The maximum resolution of the printer is 300 dpi.

For more information, contact Anna Oh.

Photocopying

Student can use copiers A, B, and C in the Inforum printing area for photocopying. Staff, faculty and PhD students can use photocopiers installed in room 607. The main office has an additional copier reserved for staff and faculty only.

Scanning

There are two flat-bed scanners in the Inforum open ares. In addition, all three Inforum copiers can act as scanners. The scanned document can be emailed or saved on USB key or memory card.

Staff and teaching faculty can use the Ricoh copiers in room 607 and in the main office.
